College Football: Clemson Football Wins the Big 12 title
Clemson won the Big12 title by beating Oklahoma State 38-24 in a national semifinal game on Sunday, and now will face a game in the Big Ten championship game on Monday.
The Tigers are a perfect 12-0 heading into this game, while the Cowboys have been losing their last two games in the conference.
Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson led the way with his 22-yard touchdown run with 7:19 remaining in the third quarter.
Watson completed 21-of-25 passes for 264 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions.
Oklahoma State quarterback Derek Carr threw for 205 yards and three touchdowns.
Both quarterbacks threw for 330 yards and one touchdown in their first conference title game.
The Sooners are a 2-8 team after losing to Missouri and TCU in the Sugar Bowl, but are coming off a 34-27 victory over Oklahoma in the Cotton Bowl.
Oklahoma State was without linebacker David Sharpe (knee) and cornerback Jalen Adams (back), but the Cowboys are expected to be much more aggressive with their secondary in this one.
Okie safety Eric Striker had four tackles, a pass break up and two pass breakups on the night.
Defensive tackle DeAndre Ramsey had four stops, two pass breaks up and a sack.
The Cowboys have had a bye week in the past two weeks and should be a much better team.
They beat Baylor in the national semifinee game on Sept. 7 and then beat Texas Tech in the first round of the Big XII championship game.
