TENNESSEE TEENS’ TRADE IN BUDGET MIGHT BE DEADLINE FOR DEAL, BILLS SAYS

TENNIS, Tenn.

— The Tennessee Titans and former Tennessee offensive coordinator Todd Downing have agreed to terms on a two-year contract extension, a source familiar with the deal told ESPN.

Downing will make $2 million per season, the source said.

The deal will take effect at the start of the 2020 season, which the Titans host at Dallas on Sept. 28.

Downing was released by the Titans earlier this week.

Downing spent three seasons with the Titans as their offensive coordinator.

He coached the unit to an 8-8 record and a pair of playoff berths.

Downing played in five games with the Browns in 2020.

Downing’s last NFL coaching gig was with the Miami Dolphins in 2018.

Downing coached offensive linemen at Miami from 2010 to 2015 and spent time as the offensive coordinator at the University of Miami from 2012 to 2015.
