When Duck Football Returns, Oregon Ducks Will Be Different than Ever
The Oregon Ducks football team will be the most successful team in the country when it returns to the gridiron for the 2017 season, according to head coach Nick Aliotti.
“We’re going to be very different,” Aliotti told The Oregonian/OregonLive on Thursday.
“I think there’s going to need to be a lot more balance in the game.
There are going to still be the basics that we’ve been doing.
We’ve been able to get guys in the box and get them involved and that will be key.”
Oregon was able to secure an opening in the Big 12 Conference in 2017, which is something Aliotti said he’s excited about.
“I think the biggest thing is that we’re in a new conference,” Aliott said.
“We’re moving to a conference with a new name, which we’re excited about and we’re going there to play some football.
We want to be able to bring some new people into the locker room and bring some players in to make the offense and the defense stronger.”
Oregon’s defense has also become one of the most prolific in the Pac-12 and is one of two programs in the conference to have four players selected in the first round of the NFL Draft.
“They have the ability to play with a little more speed and some of the other things that we are seeing that they are able to do, so we have a lot of options,” Aliotta said.
“This is a very balanced team, but I think you have to be careful with how you’re playing the game, because the only thing you can control is your own talent level and your own ability to get those guys in there and make plays.”
